FEDERAL SUPREME COURT CASES

         Religion- Church of Lukumi Babalu v. Hialeah
The City's ban on killing animals for religious sacrifices, while allowing sport killing and hunting, was unconstitutional discrimination against the Santeria religion. They concluded that killing an animal for in public or private for a ceremony was unconstitutional. 


Minority- 
United States v. Jones
The court will will determine whether police should be require to attach a GPS device to a suspects car in order to track its movement. Prosecutors argue that electronic enhancements are no different than visual stake outs.

School System- 
Safford Unified School District v. Redding
An 8th grader at Safford Middle was searched after some kids told the administrators that she may have had ibuprofen  on her. She was strip-searched by school officials. She claimed that her fourth amendment right was violated. The court reasoned that the strip-search was not justified.
